With its 850 Km of Atlantic coastline, blue sky and radiant sunshine, Portugal offers visitors not only a mild climate all year round, but also a wide variety of different beaches, each marked by its own special atmosphere and surroundings.

You are looking for deserted beaches, a blooming nature all year long, picturesque villages and friendly hosts? All that you find in Portugal and the west coast region near the river Mira - one of the clearest rivers of Europe

The natural park Costa Vicentina covers about 80 km of coastline and goes into the Alentejo where it is called Costa Alentejana. The region is known for it´s diversity of birdlife, in the river you finde turtles and crabs. Oven a hundred species of plants can be found.The region is a fisherman paradise.

There are beaches in small fishing ports and picturesque villages, as well as small unknown coves, beaches hidden behind extensive sand dunes or located in large tourist centres with sophisticated hotels, but wherever you are you can enjoy a wide range of different activities, helping you to reconcile your fondness for sea, sun and sand with the cultural entertainment and the sense of discovery that the Alentejo has to offer you.
